Author Guidelines

Manuscript submission

All submissions should be sent to cadernosaa [at] openedition.org

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items. Submissions will be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. Please indicate if your submission is for a special issue or thematic dossier.

  2. Authors should confirm that the submission is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated by any other journal or publishing media of any kind. Otherwise, make sure to indicate any prior publication of your submission (e. g. in conference proceedings). After acceptance of their contribution, authors will have to sign a publishing agreement regarding the copyrights of their work.

  3. All submissions have to include title, abstract (100-200 words) and up to six keywords. Submission in other languages than English must also include an English translation of the title, abstract and keywords.

  4. All information that could identify the author (name, references, etc.) should be removed, allowing for a double-blind peer review of the material submitted.

  5. Submissions should be in Microsoft Word (1997-2003) or RTF format, and should not exceed 5MB. Texts should be formatted without columns, font Times New Roman, 12pt, 1.5 line spacing.

  6. Bibliographic and formatting standards follow roughly the style of the American Sociological Society (ASA Style). By submitting an article, authors commit themselves to adapt their work to the CadernosAA Manuscript style guide if the submission is considered apt for publishing.

  7. Photographs within articles should be in low resolution (150 dpi) and jpg format, and be embedded in the file.

  8. For ‘(Audio)visual essays’, only links should be specified within the accompanying text. The material itself should be hosted on another site (e. g. Picasa, Flickr, Vimeo, etc.). If your submission will be considered for publication, you will be asked to send the original material. Please make sure beforehand that you have the full publishing rights for all audiovisual material you wish to include in your publication.
